July 15, 2006 - Station Square & Bridges

On the 15th I went to look at some bridges. There is a park underneath the Birmingham Bridge, but I had never actually seen it. The entrance is about a half mile away, and you have to drive way back up to get to the bridge. Once there it is nice enough, with a boat ramp a little floating dock, plenty of fishing spots. I got good underneathy pictures of the bridge though.

After that, I went down to Station Square. I got some pictures in and around. I also figured, while I'm paying to be in the Parking garage, I might as well go up. See, not many buildings let you go in and walk around on their roof. But parking garages have spaces up there! So I got some cool pix from the top of the Station Square Parking Garage.

I also hung out with the Smithfield Street Bridge, which is a National Historic Landmark.

John Roebling (of Brooklyn Bridge fame) had a suspension bridge on this spot, which was removed to make way for this lovely structure.
